Precisely launches Lexnus: contract management that starts with policy, not documents

GOTHENBURG, Sweden, 31 August 2026 – Precisely today announced the general availability of Lexnus, a new legal technology platform that takes a fundamentally different approach to contract lifecycle management. While traditional CLM systems start with the document, Lexnus starts with the legal policy that governs it.

Traditional CLM systems help organisations create, route, approve and store contracts. But the legal standards behind those contracts still need to be defined and translated into playbooks, often through lengthy implementation projects.

Lexnus reverses that model. Organisations upload contracts and templates they already use, and Lexnus analyses them to build an initial legal playbook based on the standards embedded in those documents. Legal reviews, adjusts and approves the rules before they are published.

Once approved, the playbook becomes a policy layer against which contracts can be evaluated, whether they are created internally, received from a counterparty or drafted using AI.

“AI can generate a contract in seconds, but it should not decide what legal risk a company is willing to accept. Lexnus separates those two things: use AI wherever it creates value, while your approved legal policy remains in control,” said Oscar Klink, CTO at Precisely.

From managing contracts to enforcing policy

The distinction is becoming increasingly important as contracts are created outside traditional CLM systems, in Word, by counterparties and increasingly through generative AI.

Rather than requiring contracts to originate in a specific system, Lexnus is designed to apply the organisation's approved legal standards regardless of where a contract comes from. Deviations and missing provisions are surfaced, allowing legal teams to focus their review on exceptions rather than repeatedly reviewing standard agreements from the beginning.

“Most legal teams already have years of decisions embedded in the contracts they have negotiated and signed. Lexnus turns that existing knowledge into an operational playbook, instead of asking them to spend months rebuilding it manually in another system,” said Niclas Wigh, CRO at Precisely.

Lexnus is designed to produce its first results in under an hour, without a traditional implementation project or implementation fee.

The platform is hosted on EU-sovereign infrastructure and is generally available from 31 August 2026.
